About The Event

 The Date And Venue

 The Dubai Marathon 2024 is set to take place on January 7, which is a Sunday. The race will begin on Umm Suqeim Road and conclude just before the Dubai Police Academy. The entire route courseis the Marathon (42.195km), which is divided into sections - 10km Road Race and 4km Fun Run. Participants can choose which of the course routes they want to run and register for it. The organisers have chosen a scenic route highlighting the best of Dubai's iconic landmarks, providing participants and spectators with an unforgettable experience.

 The 42 kilometre Marathon Race route

This route begins on Umm Suqeim Road and proceeds to Al Sufouh, passing through Dubai College Junction, Palm Island, and the entrance to Dubai Media City before making a U-turn. The runners then pass by the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi, One & Only Royal Mirage, and Madinat Jumeirah before heading to Jumeirah Beach Road, where they run alongside the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The runners will stay on course and complete two rounds on Jumeirah Road before finishing near the Dubai Police Academy. The total time limit for the race is 6 hours. 

 10 km Race

Participants in the 10 km race must run the stretch of Al Sufouh Road, make a U-turn and return to the finish line on Umm Suqeim Road. 

 4km Fun Run

The 4km Fun Run route begins at Umm Suqeim Road, opposite Madinat Jumeirah, and extends for 2 kilometers before turning around for another 2 kilometers to finish near Dubai Police Academy.

 Registration for Dubai Marathon 2024

 If you are interested, you may check out the Dubai Marathon 2024 official website and register online for the route you want to run. As the event is quite popular, it is crucial to register early. To participate in the full race - 42.195 km Marathon Running - you must be 18 years and above, and the registration fee is 150 USD per person. Individuals aged 15 and up can register for the 10 km race for 85 USD per person. The 4 km Fun Run is open to people of all ages, with a registration fee of USD 50 per person. There is also a category for wheelchair participants. 

 Timings

The marathon for the masses begins at 7 p.m., followed by a 10 km race at 8.15 a.m. and a 4 km fun run at 10.30 a.m. The wheelchair participants' marathon would begin at 5.55 a.m. 

Preparing for the Marathon and Race Day Experience

Marathon training requires commitment and discipline. You should maintain a structured training plan if you are serious about running the marathon. This will ensure that you avoid injuries and create endurance in the body. If you plan to run the entire marathon, you should be able to run at least 15 miles at a time comfortably before the marathon.
